Susan Hart, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with culturally diverse individuals in both inpatient and outpatient community mental health settings. Most recently, I have focused on providing therapy for adults and older adults.

My Approach to Therapy

Beginning a therapeutic relationship is the first step toward prioritizing your mental health. At every stage of life, we encounter emotional and social challenges. Individual therapy can be a deeply rewarding experience that creates lasting, positive change in many areas of your life.

My goal is to offer a safe, supportive environment where you can explore new ways of responding to unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior that may be keeping you stuck.

My clinical approach integrates several evidence-based modalities, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Exploring the connections between thoughts, emotions, and actions.

  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT): Cultivating present-moment awareness with acceptance and non-judgment.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI): Clarifying personal values and motivations for change.

  • Supportive Psychotherapy: Providing empathy, validation, and encouragement in the present moment.

What to Expect in Our First Session

Our initial consultation will focus on what has brought you to therapy. Together, we’ll discuss the nature of your concerns, your personal history, and your strengths and challenges. From there, we’ll develop a customized therapy plan tailored to your unique goals.

My hope is that you leave our first meeting with greater clarity, and the information you need to make an informed decision about whether working together feels right for you.
